If silicone products blister, or have dark lines or turn yellow during production, you may consider production process failure. If temperature used in the mold is not high enough, the product may be soft, and even has color difference, yellowing or the defect on the surface of the mold core or the unevenness invisible to the naked eye , which causes deformation. So during production, try to control the mold temperature, machine pressure, and vulcanization time to reduce product defects. If products such as silicone cake mould or silicone ice mould get deformed, they may not be able to mould a perfect shape.
The vulcanizing agent is divided into high-temperature vulcanizing agent and low-temperature vulcanizing agent. Both have different benefits. When the high-temperature vulcanizing agent is mixed with raw materials, the product will demold faster, and is not easy to yellow. So it is generally used for some products with higher requirements for color, and the price of high-temperature vulcanizing agents is relatively high. Ordinary vulcanizing agent is also widely used. It is often used for industrial accessories and sealing and shock absorption products. The price is relatively low. You can choose different vulcanizing agent according to the hardness and requirements of different products.
Products made with different materials will differ in toughness and pulling strength. Some products must be made with high-strength raw materials, otherwise they won’t mould. Some products must be made of food-grade silicone, otherwise the product may produce odor. So products that we often have contact with such as silicone plate, silicone spoon must be made of food-grade silicone.
